Celebrating Women in Horticulture Week with Balanced Environments

This week, May 26 through June 1, 2024, is the Fifth Annual Women in Horticulture Week.

There are so many amazing women in the horticulture industry. We are lucky to have many working for BE. We want to take a moment to highlight a few of these incredible Women.

These women are making a place for themselves in the horticulture industry. As growers, marketers, managers, engineers, account managers, consultants, assistants, accountants, and more. One of the most important things we can do at BE is to foster an environment for women to grow and thrive in our work environment.

Spotlighting Our Inspiring Women

Balanced Environments is proud to feature some of the incredible women who contribute to our success:

Gayle Kruckenberg

  • Vice President of Sales and Marketing
  • Promoted from within; started with BE 2007
  • ILCA Membership Committee
  • Numerous NALP & ILCA Landscape Management Awards
  • Previously an Adjunct Professor of Landscape Design at McHenry County College

Judy Short

  • BE Account Manager, Plainfield Branch
  • Landscape Architect degree from Iowa State University
  • Championed the Naperville Tornado Project in 2022 & 2023, securing state funding to refurbish lawns and landscapes from glass, nails, and debris

Taylor Ryterski

  • BE Business Development, Milwaukee (Pewaukee) Branch
  • Previously a Property Manager
  • Active participant with Milwaukee CAI, BOMA, IREM, PFMA, and Wisconsin Hotel Association

Stephanie Borchardt

  • Branch Administrative Assistant since January 2007
  • Manages labor paperwork, data input, vendor invoices, strategic organization, deliveries, and shipping

As part of the 8% of the landscape industry that is female, Balanced Environments is committed to women in the industry and celebrate their invaluable contributions in our field.
